Prague-Czech Republic
Welcome to the Czech republic...we decided that it would be a good idea to pop over to scenic Prague for a long weekend and check out what all the fuss was about. Nine out of ten stag doos cant be wrong.
We started the trip with now veteran travellers Jay and Chris (Alliano), Scott (Edgworth) and Smithy. Flying from Derby on thursday meant that we avoided the friday night stag do rush which meant that we were left to be the idiots that get on five minutes late. Me and Jay couldnt quite believe how informal the easy jet crews are getting. They were practically wearing jeans and orange tee shirt. Whats wrong with the uniform in that Britney video??
On arriving we spent twenty minutes trying to decide whether to get a cab or try and tackle the bus and tram system. Its about 10p on the tram to anywhere if you bother paying or about a fiver into town from the airport. Beware dont take cabs from town as they will royally rip you off..only from the official stand at the airport.
We booked into a cool little hostel with beer for 20p and a five bed room for about £7 a night. with a quick wash up we headed into town to sample the cultural delights of Prague.
About six hours later we came out of Eastern Europes biggest night club. Six different floors of music to suit anyone.Its just by the big famous bridge with all the statues on. Seems like thursday is the new friday over there as well cuase the vibe in the club was loads better on thursday than Friday (yes we went back for more the following night) Heres a tip for you. Dont take out anthing you dont mind losing. when we got out of the club I had a woman that looked like a russian shotputter come up to me and ask me if I wanted 'anything'. when I said no she decided that was the wrong answer and pinned me against a wall and tryed to convince me that she was the one for me. I watched as everyone else walked off round a corner leaving me to the geoff capes lookalike. I finally got the crone off and cuaght up with everyone only to discover that my phone was gone. NIce.
The days where spent walking around the city and surrounding hills. Even if your not into architecture and that it is still pretty amazing to look at. we walked untill the fit boys in the group complained then spent much time sitting watching the talent go by....there is a lot of talent in Prague, let me tell you.

Over all if you are going to Prague for the worlds then try and stay an extra day just to check out all the rest of the city Here are a few guidlines for visitors.
1. Dont eat in the midle of the town as it will be the same price as over here. also Chinese and italian in Prague is not the best.
2. If you keep getting propositioned by touts for the strip clubs just try and confuse them and they might go away. we actually got one to offer us a dwarf to throw in the river.
3. dont take the cabs. the Tram costs next to nothing and thats if you bother to pay (its a trust system) which Im sure you would.
4. avoid the town centre during the middle of the day and early evening. go out at about 9 ot 10 and you will not see any stag dos as they will be mostly burnt out before you are even getting warmed up.
5. try and avoid the sunday night easyjet flight home as this will be full of drunken Chavs.
6. bring back a bottle of Absinth and a spoon as even if you dont like it you can sell it for double over here no problem. (ps dont drink it like a shot in bars, try it with burnt sugar and water, guarenteed to make you mental..Van Gogh cut off his ear after a jolly night out on the stuff.)
